I'd like to introduce how to make PIP screencast with CamtasiaStudio. You can see the example of the PIP screencast
at "Hatena-Juku"(id:fmht7, thank you for asking)
My environment is as follows;
Any PCs and cameras are available for this method. My camera is Xacti by Sanyo, it can be used as a WebCam with connecting by USB. Previously, I used 0.3 megapixels Logicool camera. 
PIPでスクリーンキャプチャを開始する(Start!)
When you start CamtasiaStudio, you will see this introduction window.
Click "Record the screen" button, then recording of the screen starts.
You can capture a whole screen, a part of screen, etc…
Don't forget to check "record audio" and "record camera" checkboxes when you capture in PIP mode.
CamtasiaStudio will ask you lots of questions like "do you record your voice?", "do you want to preview your video before finish?". Answer as your need.
I got this screen just before my recording.
When recording starts, the preview window becomes translucent.
After recording, press F10 key, and go to the edit mode.

Before going to edit mode, you will see the window like this. You can choose a layout of the edit window. Choose as you want. I prefer the left one.
This is the window during editing. You'll see the video on the right side of the window, time-line on the bottom, and edit panel on the right head. This interface is not usual interface, it takes a littel more time to get used to it.
To set the detail about PIP, click "Picure-in-Picture" button.
You can set the size and where to display it. If you want to zoom up, use "Zoom-n-Pan" button.It is shown when to zoom in time-line window.
エンコードし、公開する(Encode&Publish!)
When you finish editing, save the file, and encode it for publish.
I choose "MPEG4(MOV)" mode at Hatena-Tips. So, you can watch Hatena-Tips with your iPod. MPEG4 is also good for YouTube.
CamtasiaStudio supports FLV and various types of encoding as well as AVI/WMV/MOV. This is the reason I choose CamtasiaStudio. It has most various choices for encoding. Altough there are many products like Wink and Adobe Captivate, my favorite is CamtasiaStudio.
Wait with snacks until the encoding finishes. It takes about same or more than play time for rendering. The actual time depends on the type of encoding.
I'm trying to make short video for Hatena-Tips, because it should be concise and easy to understand. I can't do anything during encoding, so it is also reasonable for me to keep it short. This is the video I took today.
I had spent only 10 seconds to shoot, and done little editing, so it took less than 10 minutes from shooting to publishig. Oh, I should choose video, not article!
Today, video capturing becomes very easy because almost everyone has digital camera.

It doesn't matter you use PIP screen cast or not.
